ALICE IN WONDERLAND
ALICE IN WONDERLAND began life as a story told by Lewis Carroll(1832-1898), a young Oxford University professor, to some children on a river trip in 1862. Later he wrote it out neatly with drawings as a present for one of the children, Alice Liddell. The original manuscript is now kept in the British Library, London.

THE REAL ALICE
At the end of the manuscript of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll incluede a picture of Alice Liddell, the little girl who had inspired him. She was associated with the book throughout her life.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland has been translated into almost every language,including the inveted language Esperanto. There is even a shorthand version. This is Alice from an edition in the African language Swahili, in which she is called Elisi.
